Valenzuela City Celebrates Arts Month with the Annual Visual Arts Festival

The City Government of Valenzuela, through its City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Development Office (CATDO) — in partnership with the Valenzuela Visual Arts Society — celebrated the Arts Month with the Annual Visual Arts Festival on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Valenzuela City Academic Center for Excellence (ValACE) Library.

National Arts Month is celebrated every February in the Philippines — following Presidential Proclamation No. 683, signed in 1991 — to promote and popularize the country’s artistic creations. In 2015, through the City CATDO, Valenzuela City started celebrating the Arts Festival, gathering Valenzuelanos and different art groups, providing a space to showcase and highlight their talents.

This year, in partnership with the Valenzuela Visual Arts Society (Valenzuela-based visual art group), the Annual Visual Arts Festival features an Inspiring Talk from Mr. Badz Magsumbol with the theme, “Navigating Your Art Path: Skill, Differentiation, and Relevance,” Art Exhibit, Live Demo, Freedom Wall, and Art Booths that comprises of stickers, keychains, bag charms, pins, and crochet items handcrafted by the local Valenzuelano artists. Moreover, Mr. Percy Denolo creatively performed mud art before the event ended.

The festival also includes contests in three (3) different categories: the VALIANT Digital Art Contest, the On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest, and the Tote Bag Painting Contest. The three (3) VALIANT Digital Art Contest winners received One by Wacom Pen Tablet and different cash prizes. Moreover, three (3) On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest winners received art materials from I Heart Art Manila and various cash prizes. At last, the Tote Bag Painting Contest winner received a Cafe Haraya Tote Bag and an Umbrella. Aking Pinta and SkyShare Labs also contributed a generous

This initiative brings the community together and provides a creative space for the Pamilyang Valenzuelano to showcase, highlight, learn, and explore their love for art.
