Allotting a total budget of 2.3 million for the rehabilitation works, the City of Valenzuela officially opens the newly renovated Arkong Bato Child Development Center. Mayor WES Gatchalian spearheaded the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremonies along with CSWDO Chief on Social Welfare Operations, Ms. Dorothy Evangelista, and barangay officials of Arkong Bato.
With a lot area of 144 sq.m and a floor area of 70 sq.m., the revamped Child Development Center (CDC) at Barangay Arkong Bato was transformed to become more learning-conducive for Valenzuelano learners at the tender age of 3 to 5 years old. Along with the reconstruction of the building facility, it is also equipped with well-lit and airconditioned rooms, play areas, kid-friendly restrooms and fixtures, and other dedicated spaces in the classroom for arts and crafts, story-telling, reading, and music & poetry.
The center is also decorated with colorful artwork and other educational charts that inspire creativity and boost learning among young learners. The overall rehabilitation of the facilities is designed in accordance with the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) standards.
The Arkong Bato Child Development was among the 28 fully-renovated Child Development Centers in Valenzuela City, which followed the recent opening of the new CDCs in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon and Barangay Malinta (Balubaran I & II).
The City Government of Valenzuela recognizes the cruciality of daycare centers in children’s early development. With the vision of fostering young, developing minds, Valenzuela City is committed to its endeavors to further improve learning facilities and provide for every need of each and every Valenzuelano learner.
