Valenzuela Dengue Cases Sustained Downward Trend

On the 8th Morbidity Week, Valenzuela City’s recorded number of dengue cases was 96% higher compared to the same period last year (2024). However, based on its weekly monitoring, Valenzuela City is still on a downward trend. The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) received 59 reported dengue cases on the 7th Morbidity Week (February 9-15, 2025) while 13 reported dengue cases on the 8th Morbidity Week (February 16-22, 2025) – with no death/s reported for the said month (February 2025).

The sustained downward trend is attributed to the collective efforts of the city and other stakeholders with a strong emphasis on the practice of the 4S strategies. Particularly, the Search and Destroy activities of potential breeding sites of the mosquito vector in all barangays, and intensified in the 10 barangays where most cases were noted.

With this, the City Government of Valenzuela through its City Health Office (CHO), hopes to further the decrease of cases as the CHO continuously monitors and evaluates the strategies implemented which aim to be designed to the community’s needs and dynamics for it to become effective and efficient.
