The Nanay-Tatay Teacher + Parenting Camp is one of the components of the multi-awarded Education 360 Degrees Investment Program. Held annually, the parenting camp aims to empower and equip parents on how to teach and discipline their child. Furthermore, the program highlights their significant role as a parent to boost their children's academic performances.
The parents were taught positive discipline methods, various parenting techniques, and were provided with essential learning materials and modules to further encourage learning at home.
Selected 400 parents from Districts 1 and 2 underwent the parenting camp administered by the Synergeia Foundation. They were then tasked to train co-parents at their respective schools. This year, about 12,000 daycare parents, 63,000 elementary parents, and 53,000 high school parents are targeted for the parenting camp.
As an incentive for the parents’ 100% participation rate, the City Government of Valenzuela will reward these parents and their schools through equipment needed for their school such as computers, laptops, television, and LCD projector, among others.
Meanwhile, Mayor WES and Mayoress Tiffany Gatchalian personally visited and participated during the camp, where the local chief executive shared his insights about his children using gadgets.
Introduced in 2014, the Nanay-Tatay Teacher + Parenting camp has gathered close to one million parents actively and enthusiastically participating in the program.
Early this year, Valenzuela City won its 6th Seal of Good Education Governance, a testament of the city's unwavering dedication to continuously uplifting its education.
