Former Representative to the Lower House for the first District of Valenzuela, now Mayor WES Gatchalian (center), joins other City officials in handling bags of rice to Valenzuelano senior citizens. The City Government of Valenzuela continues the “Pasko sa Hulyo para kay Lolo at Lola”, an annual tradition of mid-year gift giving to Valenzuelano senior citizens. Some 61,000 elderly bonafide residents of the City will each receive two five-kilo bags of rice, a token of gratitude to their contribution to the development of the City’s and the society as a whole.

Mayor WES Gatchalian (on stage) thanks all Valenzuelano Senior Citizens who
continually support and take part in all the city government projects during the
annual traditional mid-year gift giving to senior citizens in Valenzuela City dubbed
as “Pasko sa Hulyo para kay Lolo at Lola”. Apart from handling two five-kilo bags
of rice to some 11,309 beneficiaries of the program on the first day of roll out, he
broke the great news that, starting august, senior citizens who will get their booster shots will
receive gift checks for grocery and medical items. Those who will take their first
booster shot will have a PhP 300 gift check for grocery items while those who will
take their second booster shot will have a PhP 500 gift check for medicines and
other medical items.

struggles to make ends meet during the pandemic. Casildo is one of the 11,309
beneficiaries of the program on the first day of roll out. A total of 61,211
Valenzuelano senior citizens are set to benefit from the program.
