OUTSTANDING CITY IN NCR IN NUTRITION PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND MANAGEMENT

1st Runner Up Department of Health National Nutrition Council – National Capital Region Awarded for the city’s robust fight against nutrition problems in its locality, such as undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and overweight and obesity, resulting in exemplary performance in nutrition program management and service delivery as assessed through the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI), the monitoring and evaluation scheme of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN).

Coalition for the Services of the Elderly supported by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Awarded for being an exceptional city that assures that older people remain busy and active contributors to the life of the community through employment as BantayEstudyante and Bantay Bayan, and as volunteers to the city’s feeding and disaster preparedness programs. Geriatric healthcare was also cited, particularly the “DalawniDok” program which provides medical visits in all barangays for senior citizens who cannot go to a doctor.
