Valenzuela City Mayor Sherwin T. Gatchalian led other city officials in inaugurating and blessing of the newly-constructed Legislative and People’s Center Building, the Social Hall and the Valenzuela City Police Headquarters located at the New City Government Complex.

The PhP 90 Million Legislative and People’s Center Building was designed to complement other structures earlier built at the New City Government Complex.  The 4,200-square, meter three-storey building is integrated to the Executive Building which was inaugurated in 2009.  It now houses several key frontline services offices; like the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the Special Projects Office (SPO), the Public Employment Services Office (PESO), the City Health Department (CHD), the City Accounting Office, the City Internal Audit, the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) and the Public Information Office (PIO); the offices of the Vice Mayor, the Liga ng mga Barangay, the Sangguniang Kabataan, the City Councilors and the new session hall of the Sangguniang Panlungsod where laws for the progress of the city are being drafted; and a museum dedicated to the City’s heritage

The PhP 36.6 million new Police Headquarters is a suitable new home for the city’s police force.  The 1,458-square meter three-story building center for responsive and professional public service is about three times the size of the old Valenzuela City Police Station beside the Old City Hall which was built in 1982.  It has modern facilities, like two conference rooms, conveniently laid out office spaces and a sleeping quarter that can accommodate up to 16 persons.

The Mediterranean-inspired City Social Hall, on the other hand, houses the employee’s canteen and a function hall fit for meetings and events.

“We are building better facilities so that people will have greater and easier access to the City Government services.  These structures are the symbols of our service to the Valenzuelanos,” Mayor WIN said in a statement.

The inauguration is part of the series of activities lined up for the celebration of Valenzuela City’s 390th Foundation Day.

Joining the Valenzuelanos in the momentous event is Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman, Atty. Francis Tolentino.
