In a steadfast commitment to the well-being of its dedicated employees and the overall health of its residents, the City Government of Valenzuela, under the leadership of Mayor WES Gatchalian has proudly marked the culmination of its groundbreaking "Health Check – Belly Good!" initiative during Obesity Prevention Month at the the Audio-Visual Room, City External Services Office (CESO) on September 21, 2023

The "Health Check – Belly Good!" program, initiated by the City Health Office, was launched on February 16, 2023, with a primary goal of promoting healthy living and reducing obesity and non-communicable diseases among the diligent employees of the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO). The program is part of the Non-Communicable Disease Control Prevention Program, designed to improve the health and quality of life of Valenzuela's public servants.

At its inception in January 2023, a comprehensive assessment was conducted, encompassing a total of 324 employees from various departments, including the Public Safety Division (PSD), Traffic Management Office (TMO), Valenzuela City Transportation Office (VCTO), Sidewalk Cleaning Operation Group (SCOG), Anti-Squatting Task Force (ASTF), Sidewalk Clearing Operation Group (SCOG), Waste Management Office (WMO), Flood Control Unit, Clean and Green, Tubig Patrol, and Motorpool. The results revealed that 56 employees were categorized as overweight or obese, prompting the launch of the weight loss challenge.

Throughout the past six months, these dedicated employees have been receiving guidance, counseling, and support to address their weight concerns. A crucial aspect of the program involved monthly monitoring.

Today, as part of the celebration of Obesity Prevention Month, the City Government of Valenzuela commemorates the outstanding efforts of the participants in the "Health Check – Belly Good!" program. Their commitment to adopting healthier lifestyles and their determination to overcome the challenges of obesity have been commendable. The following are the awardees who lost  4.7kg. to 6.6kg. during the 6-month long activity:
