The City Government of Valenzuela led by Mayor WES Gatchalian supports the decision of the Schools Division Office - Valenzuela (SDO-Valenzuela) as it implements blended learning schedule for elementary and secondary levels in all public schools in Valenzuela City on May 4 and 5, 2023.

Due to the soaring temperature this summer season, the Department of Education (DepEd) released through the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Memorandum No. 2023-077 which reiterates the implementation of modular distance learning in response to extreme weather conditions as stated in DepEd Order No. 037, Series of 2022. The issuance of the memorandum is in consideration of the students’ well-being, especially those who are attending in-person classes that are experiencing extreme climate conditions. 

With the implementation of the said memorandum, the new blended learning schedule for both the elementary and secondary levels will be as follows:

For private schools, changes in class schedules will be upon the decision of the school principal or the school administrator.

SDO-Valenzuela also assures that they will be releasing a weekly update regarding the issue based on PAG-ASA daily temperature advisory. Parents and students are advised to monitor announcements and updates from the office of the school head of their respective schools.

With this, the City Government of Valenzuela continues to support and implement programs that will benefit the overall well-being of the Pamilyang Valenuelano.
