In recognition of the contributions of women towards development and to inspire them to continually engage themselves in different endeavors that will benefit the society, the City Government of Valenzuela is slated to conduct a series of activities in celebration of the National Women’s Month.
With this year’s theme “We Make Change Work for Women”, the city government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and Valenzuela City Gender and Development (GAD) Council, jumpstarted the celebration during the flag raising ceremony held at the grounds of Gusaling Geronimo Angeles, The City Hall, March 5, wherein they gave bags to female employees who attended the activity.
Meanwhile, 68 women who have been working in the city government for more than 30 years were acknowledged at the City Session Hall due to the service that they have rendered in the city.
Ms. Adelia Soriano from Barangay Rincon, one of the awardees, shared her learning during her journey in the city government.
“Sa pagsusumikap mo at sa passion mo sa trabaho mo, maa-attain mo ang success (Success is attainable through hard work and passion),” Ms. Soriano said.
Ms. Soriano who has been serving the city since 1982 is now the City's Treasurer.
Aside from the flag raising and awarding ceremonies, here are the other activities lined up in this year’s National Women’s Month.
