Valenzuela Cares!
Alleviating the situation of the typhoon Egay affected areas, the City Government of Valenzuela through the VC Cares Plus Program, mobilizes relief operations and donates PhP 13,450,000.00 worth of rice to Provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Abra, Apayao and the Cities and Municipalities under them, August 12.
Typhoon Egay, the Philippines’ fifth tropical cyclone in 2023 caused vast damage, several injuries, and casualties in most areas in the Northern and Central Luzon with its intense rain and strong winds enhanced by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
With significant damage in agriculture and infrastructure, several provinces and municipalities were placed under a state of calamity such as Province of Bulacan and Bataan, five municipalities in Pampanga, Dagupan City, Calasiao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, among others.
In this regard, a deliberation meeting was convened by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council last August 4 and concluded to a recommendation to pass a resolution that will help alleviate the situation of the affected provinces and its residents.
On August 7, the City Council passed the Resolution No. 2882, Series of 2023 which authorizes City Mayor WES Gatchalian to release the said amount as assistance in the form of sacks of rice to typhoon Egay affected areas.
The following affected Provinces, Cities, and Municipalities will receive the said rice donation:

Through the VC Cares Plus Program, Valenzuela City has been actively extending a helping hand to the victims of calamities, and looking after not only for the welfare of every Pamilyang Valenzuelano but also its brothers and sisters in other municipalities and cities who are in need.
