All efforts of the City Government of Valenzuela against illegal recruitment and trafficking-in-persons were recognized by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) as the city was given the Best Partner in the Anti-Illegal Recruitment (PAIR) Campaign Award for being exceptional partners in implementing the advocacy in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) was also given the same recognition during the ceremonial turnover of the trophies held at the Valenzuela City Trade Center on December 15, 2017.

Both the city and PESO complied on the needed requirements and got the highest grade from the year 2013 to 2016.

PESO Manager Rhay Sousa attributed the recognitions to the city’s several initiatives against illegal recruitment, such as active information dissemination campaign on illegal recruitment, active social media campaign and both the city’s advocacy to be of service to Valenzuelanos all the time,” he shared.

The Best PAIR award is given to acknowledge the initiatives of the POEA partners in NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.  It also aims to inspire them in sustaining and intensifying their advocacy of having an illegal-recruitment free society.
