Aiming to provide accessible and affordable events spaces for the Pamilyang Valenzuelano, the City Government of Valenzuela, under the leadership of Mayor WES Gatchalian, led the inauguration of the WES Events Space Canumay West, July 6, 2024.
The facility serves as the third WES Events Space in the city, following the successful openings in Barangay Dalandanan and Lawang Bato. The state-of-the-art facility, which cost PhP 68,509,504.80, is a three-storey building that spans a lot area of 2,040 square meters and a floor area of 2,511 square meters. Key features of the facility include an Events Hall with a Bridal Room and Kitchen, a Basketball Court with Shower Rooms and Toilets, an Administrative Office, and a spacious Parking Area.
The WES Events Space aims to provide an additional venue for various events and occasions for the Pamilyang Valenzuelano. Designed to cater to a wide range of community activities, the facility is expected to become a central hub for gatherings, sporting events, and special celebrations in Barangay Canumay West.
The rates for renting the events space are structured to be accessible for the community. There is a reservation fee of PhP 1,000, which is deductible from the total fee. The cost for the first three hours, including ingress and egress, is PhP 6,000, with an additional charge of PhP 1,500 for each succeeding hour.
Mayor WES Gatchalian, in his message during the inauguration, emphasized the importance of the new facility. "Gusto po nating gawing mas maayos na lugar ang Valenzuela para sa lahat, isang lugar na may ospital, isang lugar na may unibersidad, lugar na hindi tayo takot na umuwi nang gabi dahil ligtas na at marami pang iba, kaya sana ay tulungan ninyo ako gawing mas liveable city ang ating lungsod.” [We want to make Valenzuela a more comfortable place for all, a place with a hospital, a place with a university, a place where we are not afraid to go home at night because it’s safe, and many more, so I hope you help me make Valenzuela City a more liveable place for all.”]
The inauguration was also attended by Canumay West Punong Barangay and Liga ng mga Barangay President, Councilor Mario San Andres, Councilors Ramon Encarnacion, Cris Feliciano, and other Barangay and SK Officials. Various Canumay West organizations such as Homeowners Associations (HOAs) of PESAPAKAVA District 1, also participated in the event, showcasing the community’s strong support and enthusiasm.
The WES Events Space Canumay West serves as a proof of the continued community development in Valenzuela City, symbolizing progress and the collective effort to provide better facilities for every Pamilyang Valenzuelano.
