A PAWsome Pet Caravan offers free grooming and clinic services for dogs and cats! Pamilyang Valenzuelano pet owners flocked together at Valenzuela City People’s Park Amphitheater, February 24.

The City Government of Valenzuela, through the City Veterinary Services Office in partnership with the Valenzuela South Alpha Dogs, Petlink, and De La Salle Araneta University, set out free pet services which include ValPets Dog Registration with Free Microchipping, Veterinary Consultation, Anti-Rabies Vaccination, Deworming, and Basic Pet Grooming services.

The delightful event made fur parents and their adorable fur babies come together, all excitedly lined up to avail of these services for free. Ms. Trina Avendaño, a first-time fur parent to a pet dog expressed her great pleasure for the event’s accessibility, “4 months old na siya pero ngayon ko pa lang napa-vaccine, so maganda kasi nakatipid kami ngayon para sa anti-rabies at deworming niya.” [My pet is already 4 months old, hence it’s good that she finally received her first vaccine and deworming for free.]

Raffle prizes and freebies including dog and cat foods, dental treats, hygiene essentials, and other pet care products were given away to lucky event visitors. Some exotic and tamed animals were also on display at the one-day caravan.

Mayor WES Gatchalian also made rounds to check different booths and ValPets services in the caravan, "Itong event ay para ma-promote ang ValPets program, ang responsableng pet ownership sa lungsod, at para matulungan ang atinag Valenzuelano pet owners na mapanatiling malusog at malinis ang kanilang mga alaga." [This event is to promote the ValPets program and ensure responsible pet ownership in the city. To help our Valenzuelano pet owners keep their pets healthy and clean]. He also gave thanks to all the participants, event partners, exhibitors, and booth sellers who made the Valenzuela Pet Caravan 2024 successful.

The city also plans to hold more ValPets caravans and bring them to barangays to have household pets registered. The Valenzuela City Pets App, also known as the ValPets program, is a pet registration system that was introduced in March 2021. It requires pet owners in Valenzuela to register their animals and have their dogs implanted with RFID microchips, which are given to them for free by the City Veterinary Services Office.

The creation of ValPets is mandated by Ordinance No. 848, Series of 2021, or the Valenzuela City Pet Registration and Adoption Ordinance.

For inquiries regarding the ValPets app, log on to https://valpets.appcase.net/ or you may contact the City Veterinary Services Office at 8352-2000 local 2111 or the Valenzuela City Pound at 8291-5306.
