Serbisyong Nasyonal, Nasa Barangay Na!
Bannering its pledged commitment to bringing government services closer to the public while catering to a larger scale of people, the Valenzuela City Government, led by Local Chief Executive Mayor WES Gatchalian, collaborated with some national agencies and put up a one-stop-shop that provides trouble-free government transactions on its People’s Day Serbisyo Caravan, held at 3S Malanday Covered Court, September 13.
The installed one-stop-shop comprises some national government agencies (NGAs), local organizations, and some departments from the local government that offer their basic public services. The conglomerate covers the Social Security System (SSS), Philhealth, PAG-IBIG Fund, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine National Police (PNP), Commission on Election (COMELEC), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Valenzuela City District Office Legal Aid Services, Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and Project Ayos under 1st District Councilor Ricar Enriquez. They provide immediate public transactions following their mandated executive order.
The event was deemed successful as it was mobbed by about 1,300 walk-ins who wanted to avail of the services offered by the city’s NGA partners.

Trabaho Caravan
The Serbisyo Caravan with national agencies compliments the ongoing People’s Day sa Barangay activity making it a two-day affair in every barangay. The 2nd day of People’s Day includes medical and burial assistance payouts, and distribution of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, etc., and the “Ugnayan sa Barangay” wherein Mayor WES Gatchalian sits down with homeowner groups and other organizations to discuss issues and concerns that the city government needs to address.
The local government aims to keep extending its arms—reaching out even to the hem of its jurisdiction—to bring the services the government offers much closer to its constituents while providing swift and hassle-free transactions.
