This was the pick-up line of the seminar speaker in succinctly describing how lack of knowledge on proper pricing leads most start-up businesses to failure.

 

On July 27, amidst the heavy rains brought by Habagat, a total of 76 participants attended the business seminar, “How to Start a Business: Pricing and Costing,” sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – National Capital Region (NCR) Office and the City Government of Valenzuela, held at the Audio Visual Room, The City Hall.

 

The speaker, Mr. Emmanuel Pagaduan of the Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, shared his knowledge on pricing strategies while consistently encouraging the participants to take Accounting for Non-Accountants course that is also offered by the DTI.

 

In an interview, DTI Senior Trade and Industry Specialist Ms. Nerissa N. Saluib, mentioned that there is a possibility that a monthly business training would be conducted in Valenzuela City until November of this year.

 

According to Local Economic and Investment Promotion Officers (LEIPO) OIC Ms. Josephine Osea, the current goal of their unit is to provide holistic and continuous assistance to Valenzuelanos who intend to engage in entrepreneurship.

 

She said in the vernacular, “Mas madaling naidadaloy sa mga mamamayan ang iba’t ibang programang pangkabuhayan ng pamahalaan kapag sila ay nakapagparehistro. Tutulungan natin silang makapagsimula ng maayos at legal na negosyo, na may kaukulang mga permit tulad ng DTI at business permit.”
