For consecutive years, local branch of power distributor Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and food conglomerate CDO Foodsphere were once again recognized as Valenzuela City’s top taxpayer and top job provider for 2017, respectively.
Meralco and CDO were among the companies distinguished by the city government during the annual awarding ceremony in celebration of the city’s 20th Charter Day on February 14.
Held annually since 2005, the Top Taxpayers and Job Providers’ Night honors the companies that religiously pay the highest business taxes, and who receive the highest number of job referrals from the local public employment office.
The city’s Top Taxpayers were judged in four (4) categories based on their capitalization: a.) Large Scale Business Category are those companies which have a capital of above Php 100 million; b.) Medium Scale Business Category are those with a capital of more than Php 15 million up to Php 100 million; c.) Small Scale Business Category are those companies with a capital of more than Php 3 million up to Php 15 million; and d.) Micro Scale Business Category are those with a capital of Php 3 million or less.
Top Job Providers were awarded based on In-city Category (Direct Hire) Valenzuela Based, Direct Hire for Non-Valenzuela based, Manpower agencies and SPES awardees. Special awards and overseas awards will be also given to specific companies.
City Mayor REX Gatchalian expressed his gratitude to the companies for the trust and confidence they bestow to the city government. He lauded these companies’ efforts and contribution in bettering the business environment in the city and at the same time giving endless job opportunities for the people of Valenzuela.
