Responding to the question of what is the greatest problem the society is facing today and what she can do, as Binibining Valenzuela, to solve it, stunner Meiji Cruz of Barangay Canumay did not falter on what probably be the most controversial statement by a candidate in the history of the pageant – population.

The tacit admission of her position to the controversial issue of RH Bill that the Philippine Congress is now deliberating on won the approval of the judges, which include renowned Philippine fashion industry icons, Mr. Frederick Peralta and Mr. Renee Salud, and Ms. Philippines Earth 2010, Ms. Kris Psyche Resus.  “Population has a domino effect.  When it's high, it results to other problems, such as, poverty, unemployment and pollution,” she said.

"And if I would be fortunate enough to be crowned as Binibining Valenzuela 2011, I will join organizations that promote family planning and will start it on myself and my family," Cruz ended her answer that successfully won her the title after it slipped off her hands as 1st Runner-up last year.

The 17-year old Broadcasting student from Lyceum of the Philippines bested the other four finalists chosen based on wit and charm, and how they carry themselves in swimwear and evening gown to bag the much-coveted crown of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the City of Valenzuela.

Cruz also bagged two major awards: Best in Swimwear and Best Long Gown.

Dale Ivory Lee of Barangay Karuhatan was crowned Binibining Valenzuela - Tourism (1st Runner-up), while Julianna Mae Javellana of Barangay Dalandanan was confirmed  Binibining Valenzuela - Health and Fitness(2nd Runner-up), along with being the Best in Talent and Facebook Choice Awardee with 5,681 likes.  Binibining Valenzuela - Environment (3rd Runner-up) is Sheila Marie Reyes of Barangay Marulas and Binibining Valenzuela - Public Service (4th Runner-up) is Abbyjun Dizor of Brgy. Malinta (no.18) placed.

Other special awards went to Kisha Coleen Ancheta of Barangay Veinte Reales, Idol Choice Awardee  and stole the lens of the camera as Ms. Photogenic. Mariolle Natanauan of Barangay Karuhatan was fellow-candidates’ pal and was voted as Ms. Friendship.

Top 12 Finalists includeSonia Besana  of BarangayGen. T. de Leon, Ms. Kriskate Lee of BarangayMarulas, Eureka Jenelle Cabuhat of BarangayMarulas, Mariolle Natanauan of BarangayKaruhatan, Angeline Sebastian of BarangayBalangkas, Kisha Coleen Ancheta of BarangayVeinte Reales, and Michelle B. Abcede of BarangayMarulas.

The pageant was made possible through the efforts of the Valenzuela City Cultural Affairs and Development Office headed by Mr. Barcilito De Sotto and the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. headed by its Founding Chairperson, Ms. Evelyn "Jing"Hernandez.
