“Let us make Valenzuela City a drug-free city.”
Thus said Valenzuela City Chief of Police PSSUPT Ronaldo R. Mendoza in his speech before the additional 101 police contingent who reported at the Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS), August 25, 2016.
The additional commissioned officers came from the Regional Public Safety Battalion - National Capital Region Police Office (RPSB - NCRPO) to grant the request of the VCPS to further boost police visibility in the city.
The personnel disposition ratio of VCPS to the city population used to be at 1:833. Through the additional throng of policemen, the numbers improved to 1:734. The national standard ratio is 1:500.
The law enforcers consist of 10 female and 91 male with the rank of Police Officer 1 (PO1). They will be deployed to the 12 police community precincts to serve the 33 barangays in the city.
Mendoza said that the new set of cops shall participate in the city government’s campaign against illegal drugs.
On August 8, the local police launched “Valenzuela Ayaw sa Droga,” a campaign to rid the city of drug dealers and users in 90 days.
This complements Mayor REX Gatchalian’s own comprehensive anti-drug support program, the “VC Cares Plus.”
“With our new police officers before us today, I hope this will speed up our campaign,” Mendoza said.
