As a corroborative evidence of growth and development of the local industries in Valenzuela City, a total of sixty (60) companies, merchandisers and manufacturers from the entire city showcased their products in a 3-day Mega Trade Fair and Diskwento Caravan that flaunted over the grounds of New City Government Complex from February 14 to 16.

The Public Employment Services Office (PESO) collaborated with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in gathering selected companies, rolling out the Diskwento Caravan, which sold products at marked down prices.

PESO Manager, Ms. Luningning Martin emphasized that these services are initiated by City Mayor Sherwin T. Gatchalian as part of the continuous quality service to Valenzuelanos. “The trade fair will boost the sales of our local products while Diskwento Caravan will help Valenzuelanos cope up with the high rising prices of basic commodities,” she said.

Mrs. Nenita Torres, a mother of five, of Barangay Marulas bought her one week household needs in the Diskwento Caravan to save some of her monthly budget. “Prices are relatively lower compared to supermarkets and I really benefited from the discounts given since prices of basic needs are continuously rising,” she expressed in Filipino.

Valenzuelanos can expect a total of six more Trade Fairs and Diskwento Caravans in the city for the rest of the year.

The list of the participating companies includes: CDO Foodsphere Inc., RL Foods Corporation, King Sue Ham Sausage, Select Soy Sauce, Sun Cellular, Coloong Water Lily, Avon, Speed Detergent & Dolux Bleach, Tupperware Brands Co., Master Siomai, Food Cart Treats, Salem Oceanic, Evergreen Ceramics, Hortaleza Foundation Inc., Lins Magiclean, Polyfoam – Uratex, Elegance Curtain, Mode de Vie Trading, Trinkets and Things, Puto Special, Danilo Policarpio Jr., Kwek-kwek, Lolita’s Palamig, Twinkleberry Creations, Fozzini Lifestyle Concepts Inc., Essential Mfg, Polyfoam RGC International, Central Bleach Mfg., Hashish Shawarma, Kitchen Ware, Marisa’s Food, Fried Ice Cream, I Crops International Company, Peaklife Incorporated, Beverly Shop, Teresa Aquino Clothes, Sunfortune Incorporated, Nappco, Perfit Outsole, Nelson Sweets, Consolidated Paper and  Wynonah Home Corporation
