The City Government of Valenzuela allotted a total of Php 17,928,000 for all its 11,952 graduating public elementary school students.

Each one received PhP 1,500 as incentive that can be used to cover for the additional expenses needed as they transition to high school.

The cash gift distribution, led by city elected officials, was held from March 17 to 21 in their respective schools, covering all 41 public elementary schools in the city.

(The cash gift from Mayor REX helped me buy new school shoes for our graduation and the rest of the money, I shared with my siblings.)” Said Elaine Joy Icuspit, one of the recipients from Silvestre Lazaro Elementary School in Barangay Ugong who received their gifts last March 18.

Her father, Mr. Edgar Icuspit was also grateful for the financial assistance. (We’d like to thank Mayor REX because aside from the free quality education my child receives, students were alsogiven financial assistance. It served as a motivation to students that after studying hard for 6 years they would be given incentives from the city government.)” He said.
