The National Tripartite Industrial Peace Council being the main consultative and advisory mechanism of the Department of Labor and Employment’s Bureau of Labor Relations, serves as the forum for organized labor, employer and government in the formulation and implementation of labor and employment policies.
The Valenzuela Workers’ Affairs Office (WAO) and the Valenuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (VCTIPC) have been active in mediating and reffering cases of employees, whether they are unionized or not, to the Department of Labor in Employment (DOLE). These cases vary from experiencing underpayment of salary, illegal dismissal, and no overtime/holiday pay, among others. In the first half of 2022, the Workers’ Affairs Office and VCTIPC have recorded a total of 475 cases wherein 371 or 78% of them were settled. The settled cases translate to about Php 16,556,933.28 of monetary benefits given to the affected employees.
The oathtaking ceremony of the newly-elected officers of the Valenzuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council symbolizes the new chapter of the organization’s continuous advocacy in maintaining tripartism and peace among the labor, employer, and government sector to attain industrial peace and productivity efficiency. Representatives from the Workers’ Affairs Office and the Valenzuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (VCTIPC) also talked about their planned strategies for the future of labor sector and on how to maintain a good relationship with the different labor entities in the city.
On August 26, 2022, the Valenuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council held their election of officers and appointments of committee members for the year 2022-2024 at the ALERT Center Multipurpose Hall with the following set of officers being elected:
Management Sector
