Bringing back the spirit of Christmas and gift-giving tradition, the Valenzuela City Government, through Mayor WES Gatchalian, led the kick-off of the #PamaskongHandog for the senior citizens in the city – giving an early Christmas Gift to a total of 63,246 elders this holiday season.
On the first day of the distribution, the City Government allotted a total number of 11, 813 gift packs for the beneficiaries from the following Barangays: Wawang Pulo (438), Balangkas (1,484), Poblacion (67), Pulo (147), Pariancillo Villa (257), Palasan (729), Isla (543), Bisig (246), Mabolo (252), Tagalag (406), Arkong Bato (996), Coloong (1,410), Dalandanan (1,139), Rincon (667), and Malinta (3,032). The gift packs they received contained 2 kilograms of rice, canned goods, spaghetti bundle, and fruit salad packages, for them to have something to cook on Christmas Eve.
#PamaskongHandog para kina Lolo at Lola is part of the City Government's initiative in ensuring the well-being of Nakatatandang Valenzuelanos. This is also the City's way in giving back to them for their valuable contributions to the continuous progress and development of the City of Valenzuela. This is just one of the many programs that prioritize the senior citizens’ welfare in the city.
Prior to the gift-giving held today, it may be recalled that in July, the Valenzuela City Government resumed with #PaskoSaHulyo that benefitted about 61,000 senior citizens in the city. They received their mid-year Christmas gift with two packs of 5 kilograms of rice.
Also joining today’s distribution were, 1st District Representative Congressman REX Gatchalian, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilors; Cris Feliciano, Jonjon Bartolome, Bimbo Dela Cruz, Marlon Alejandrino, Ghogho Deato Lee, Goyong Serrano, Ricar Enriquez, and Ramon Encarnacion.
