The Resettlement Governance Assistance Fund (RGAF) presented various awards to Valenzuela City at a ceremony held at the Hotel Monticello in Tagaytay City, Cavite, October 28, 2022. For their dedication and considerable contribution to the successful implementation of the 2020 RGAF, Valenzuela City received eight awards, including two (2) Stand-out RGAF Focal, Focal Persons for the DILG Valenzuela Field Office, Best in Fund Utilization, and two (2) Most Active HOA. The City Government of Valenzuela, together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Valenzuela (DILG-Valenzuela) won multiple Resettlement Governance Assistance Fund (RGAF) Awards from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) during a ceremony held at the Hotel Montecilla Tagaytay, October 28.

Valenzuela City Mayor WES Gatchalian’s efforts in initiating programs that will benefit Valenzuelanos paid off as the city government, together with several focal persons received several awards pertaining to the successful implementation of the 2020 Resettlement Governance Assistance Fund (RGAF).

The Resettlement Governance Assistance Fund (RGAF) is a fund provided by the national government to the different Local Government Units (LGU) to be used for its different resettlement programs. Valenzuela City was hailed as the Best in Fund Utilization for the year 2020, as several resettlement programs were successfully implemented, such as improvements in Disiplina Villages Ugong, Bignay, and Lingunan.

On the other hand, Valenzuela City Housing and Resettlement Office head, Ms. Elenita Reyes was hailed as one of the Stand-Out RGAF Focal persons as she was the lead in executing the resettlement programs of the city government.

Disiplina Villages Home Owners Associations (HOA) presidents, Ms. Daisy Biares, and Ms. Precesila Labsan of Disiplina Village Ugong and Bignay respectively, were also recognized for their significant contribution for the successful implementation of the 2020 Resettlement Governance Assistance Fund (RGAF) in their communities.

Department of the Interior and Local Government – Valenzuela (DILG-Valenzuela), together with their focal person, Ms. Joybie Concepcion-Arceo also garnered recognition for their relevant contribution for the successful implementation of RGAF in the city.

Committee on Urban Planning, Housing, and Development Chairman, Councilor Ramon Encarnacion, Housing and Ressetlement Office head Ms. Elenita Reyes, Barangay Ugong Kapitan Eddie Nazar, and Barangay Bignay Kapitan Garcing Victoriano represented the city in receiving the awards.
