Panimulang hakbang tungo sa pangarap!

Sa pagpapatuloy ng adhikain ng Lungsod Valenzuela na bigyan ng pantay na pagkakataon ang bawat isang makatanggap ng pormal na edukasyon, ang Lokal na Pamahalaan, sa pamumuno ni Mayor WES Gatchalian, katuwang ang Department of Education (DepEd) – Valenzuela ay pinangunahan ang seremonya ng pagtatapos ng mga estudyante ng Alternative Learning System (ALS) batch 2023-2024, na ginanap sa Valenzuela City Amphitheater, noong ika-lima ng Hulyo.

May kabuuang anim na raan at siyamnapu’t siyam (699) na estudyante ang nakakumpleto ng kanilang pag-aaral at nakatanggap ng diploma, habang tatlumpu’t apat (34) sa kanila ay nagmula sa sektor ng Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). Sa kanilang pagsisimula sa nasabing programa, ang lokal na pamahalaan ay naghandog ng mga ALS Kit sa mga estudyante, na magagamit nila sa kanilang pag-aaral at hindi na mag-aabala pang gumastos para bumili ng mga gamit pang-eskwela.

Sa kasalukuyang pag-uulat ay mayroon nang naitayong kabuuang apatnapu’t limang (45) ALS Centers sa Lungsod ng Valenzuela. Ito ay parte ng mithiin ng lungsod na bigyang pagkakataon ang kabataang na magkaroon ng pormal na edukasyon kagaya ng karamihan, sa kabila ng kanilang kawalan ng kakahayan dulot ng kahirapan o ng kung ano pang dahilan.

Naniniwala ang Pamahalaang Lungsod na ang pagkakaroon ng inklusibong edukasyon ay isa sa karapatan ng kabataang Valenzuelano at hindi dapat maging isang pribilehiyo lamang para sa ilan.

Sa kanyang personal na pagbati para sa mga mag-aaral, ikinintil ni Mayor WES sa kanilang isipan ang kahalagahan ng diplomang natanggap nila mula sa programang pang-edukasyon ng lungsod. Aniya, “[Iyan] pong hawak ninyong diploma ay susi para sa magandang buhay at susi para sa [inyong] kinabukasan. Kaya po ang pagbati ko ay hindi para sa Lungsod ng Valenzuela, kundi para sa inyo, dahil kayo po ay nagpursige, nagbigay ng oras, at nagsakripisyo para makamtan ang diplomang inyong nakuha ngayong umaga.”

Sa kabilang banda, nais din ng Pamahalaang Lungsod na mabigyan ng maayos na trabaho ang mga nagsipagtapos ng ALS. Sa tulong ng Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Valenzuela ay hahanapan sila ng job vacancies ayon sa kanilang kakayahan at irerekomenda sila sa mga kumpanya sa loob at labas ng Valenzuela.

Bilang pagsuporta sa mga matagumpay na nagsipagtapos, ang espesyal na okasyon ay dinaluhan nina Senator Win Gatchalian, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilor Mickey Pineda, Councilor Niña Lopez, Councilor Ricar Enriquez, Councilor Ghogo Deato Lee, Councilor Sel Sabino-Sy, ilang mga Punong Barangay at SK Chairman sa lungsod, ALS Focal Person Jennica Sy, at Schools Division Office – Valenzuela.
