Tuloy ang Mabilis na Responde, Tuloy ang Progreso!

The City of Valenzuela, led by Mayor WES Gatchalian and Senator WIN Gatchalian, led the blessing and turnover ceremony of the 33 new WIN Serbisyo Fire Trucks to each of the 33 barangay beneficiaries on August 3, 2024. The event took place at the Puregold Dalandanan parking grounds, marking a significant step in enhancing the city's fire emergency response capabilities.

The newly acquired fire trucks, each costing PhP 2,899,800, amounting to a total investment of PhP 95,693,400, were acquired through the funding of the office of Senator WIN Gatchalian. These trucks are specifically designed to navigate narrow roads, ensuring that all areas of Valenzuela City have access to prompt and efficient fire services.

Each modified Isuzu Traviz fire truck features a 1000-liter capacity water tank, a modern portable fire pump, a multi-functional warning blinker, a rugged weather-resistant enclosure, and a compact build for tight-road access.

In his short remarks during the ceremonial turnover of fire vehicles, Sen. WIN reinstilled the vital role of the barangay units in immediate response to any disaster that might happen to the city. [What happened during Typhoon Carina proves how important the roles of our barangays are. We found out that, if the tragedy is this widespread, our first responders are the barangays—the city and the national government come second. So it is very important that our barangays are tough, adequate, and fast. So this is just one of the many things we do to make the services of our barangays swift and efficient]

The turnover ceremony underscored the city’s commitment to public safety and disaster preparedness. Mayor WES emphasized the importance of these fire trucks in enhancing the city’s ability to respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively. The acquisition of these fire trucks represents the continuous effort to provide the best possible emergency response services to the constituents. With these new additions, even the most inaccessible areas of the city can be protected.

Joining the event were Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilors Marlon Alejandrino, Niña Lopez, Gerald Galang, Sel Sabino-Sy, some officials from BFP-Valenzuela, Barangay Captains, Barangay Leaders, and representatives from various community organizations. The success of the event symbolizes the city’s hope for the fire truck's successful deployment in safeguarding the community.

With these new fire trucks, Valenzuela City is better prepared to face fire emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of every Pamilyang Valenzuelano.
