In support of its goal to further expand and develop the Gen. T. De Leon National High School, the City of Valenzuela receives a generous donation of seven (7) parcels of land with a span of 4,305 square meters from San Miguel Corporation headed by President and CEO Ramon S. Ang. A ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation between two parties was held at Valenzuela City Hall, September 4, 2024.

The renowned Filipino-brand beer company San Miguel Corporation, spearheaded by President and CEO Ramon S. Ang, has donated seven (7) parcels of land spanning 4,305 square meters to the City Government of Valenzuela. This donation supports the administration’s endeavors to expand Gen. T. De Leon National High School as cited in the City Resolution No. 3176, Series of 2024.

The Valenzuela LGU and San Miguel Corporation signed the Deed of Donation ceremonially at Valenzuela City Hall. Representing the San Miguel Corp. was the Chairperson of the San Miguel Foundation, Ms. Cecile Ang, who signed the Deed of Donation on behalf of CEO Ramon S. Ang. The agreement was sealed as Mayor WES Gatchalian joined her in signing the deed along with the witnesses Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja and Mr. Danny Pajarillo, the Plant Manager of Polo Brewery.

In her message, Chairperson Cecile Ang addressed the cruciality of nurturing quality education through the expansion of educational facilities. “This donation of 4,305 square meters of land for the expansion of Gen. T. De Leon National High School further proves San Miguel’s commitment to investing in future generations. Our vision is that every child and young person, regardless of background, progresses as far as possible through education.” Ang said.

Representing the City of Valenzuela, Mayor WES Gatchalian expressed his firm gratitude to San Miguel Corp. for their generous donation in furtherance of the city’s goals for Gen. T. De Leon National High School. “Kaya our promise to Ma’am Cecile na itong property na ito ay gagamitin natin into good use. With your vision in education and the vision of the City of Valenzuela; ito pong lupa ay mabibigyan ng bagong tahanan ng ating mga estudyante sa Gen. T. De Leon National High School.” he said.

Being the largest barangay in Valenzuela City, Gen. T. De Leon National High School is considered densely populated, haboring a total number of 6,169  junior and senior high school students currently enrolled. This land donation from the San Miguel Corporation shall pave the groundwork for the city’s plans to expand the school buildings of Gen. T. De Leon National High School.

The proposed expansion includes two (2) 4-storey, 16-classroom buildings; which, in total, comprise 32 classrooms. If double shift, these buildings shall benefit 2,880 students overall. On the other hand, an amphitheater, serving as a multipurpose event place, is also in the works with a total floor area of 1,912 square meters. Lastly, resting adjacent to Gen T. De Leon NHS is another ValACE building, that shall house a library and study area for all students nearby.

Witnessing the ceremonial signing of the deed of donation were from the City Council, namely Councilors Niña Lopez, Ramon Encarnacion, and Liga ng mga Barangay President, Councilor Mario San Andres. Esteemed guests from the San Miguel Corporation were also present alongside the administration of DepEd Valenzuela, former and present school principals of Gen. T. De Leon National High School, and lastly, the SPTA and FPTA members.
