Valenzuela City brings city hall services closer to Barangays Pasolo and Malinta residents as 14th and 15th Sentro ng Sama-samang Serbisyo (3S) Centers, or City Hall Annexes, officially opened for business on July 10, 2018.
“We listened to what the public has to say,” said Mayor REX Gatchalian. Constituents have been expressing sentiments about government facilities in their Barangays that are located far from each other, hence making it difficult for them to access services.
The construction of the new 3S Centers, according to the Mayor, lets government services go to the people instead the other way around.
The PhP 19.6 Million Pasolo 3S Center houses the Barangay Hall, Barangay Health Station, Multi-Purpose Hall, Alternative Learning System (ALS) Community Center, and a Daycare Center.
On the other hand, the Malinta - Dulong Tangke 3S Center which also costs PhP 19.6 Million, is equipped with a Fire Sub-station, Police Station, Daycare Center, Barangay Hall, ALS Center, and a Multi-Purpose Hall.
3S Centers or the city hall annexes serve as satellite city halls built to efficiently deliver government services and elicit people’s participation in governance. Conceptualized in aim of making Valenzuela City more liveable, it functions as government facility on a regular day but shall serve as a rescue hub during times of disaster.
First District Representative, WES Gatchalian encouraged everyone to take good care of this facility for it is constructed through their taxes, “you don’t have to thank us. These projects are yours, the money used is yours,” he added.
“We now have 15 3S Centers in the City. It is the City’s goal to give all 33 barangays its own 3S Center,” said Mayor REX.
There are currently two more 3S Centers under construction in the barangays of Wawang Pulo and Balangkas, and another three in the pipeline.
The inauguration and blessing of the two new city hall annexes is part of the week-long celebration of Dr. Pio Valenzuela’s 149th Birth Anniversary.
