Fresh from inspecting three (3) vaccination sites on the south side of the National Capital Region (NCR) the day before, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA)  Chairman Atty. Benhur Abalos paid a visit to Pasolo Elementary School Industrial/ Corporate Vaccination Center in Barangay Pasolo this August 7, 2021.

Upon his arrival, Mayor REX Gatchalian and City Health Officer Dr. Jaime Exconde Jr. gave the MMDA chief a walk-through of the operations of the Pasolo Elementary School vaccination site.

Also present to welcome Chairman Abalos were Peter Quintana of the Valenzuela Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Barangay Pasolo Punong Barangay Lucino Marcelino Jr.

Valenzuela City was the first stop in the Chairman’s visit to the Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) area. He is doing the rounds to prove to people that contrary to news that spread prior to the August 6 implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in NCR, vaccinations are being conducted in an organized manner.

During the visit, some 1,200 employees from different companies in Valenzuela received their first jab of Sinovac vaccine.

“This is one of the models. Ginawa ni Mayor REX. This is very orderly. In-explain niya sa akin, dalawa pala ito. Isang pang-private, isang pang-corporate... This one servicing all of the corporations in Valenzuela. At alam ninyo naman pag korporasyon ang negosyo, mga 500 ang empleyado. With the help of their Chamber of Commerce here in Valenzuela, hindi lang taga-Valenzuela ang binabakunahan nilang mga trabahador. Taga-labas pa [ng Valenzuela.] Kung kaya’t napakaganda,” Chairman Abalos enthused.

As the NCR city nearest to the province of Bulacan, almost 20-30%of Valenzuela’s workforce are non-residents of the city, and are in fact, from different municipalities and cities in Bulacan.

“Pag tapos na tayo doon sa quota natin, hindi natin babaklasin itong set-up natin. May 14 vaccination sites [tayo]... ‘Yung mga LGU ng Bulacan na malapit sa'tin, maliliit ‘yun compared to us, so logistically, medyo mabigat sa kanila. So, kapag natapos na tayo sa Valenzuela, we will make sure na sa mga na-set up natin [na sites], pwede nang dalhin doon ng mga LGU later on ‘yung mga hindi ma-service sa kanilang mga lugar,” Mayor REX disclosed.

In addition to the vaccination center in Pasolo Elementary School, two (2) more Industry/Corporate Vaccination Centers namely, Justice Eliezer delos Santos National High School in Barangay Ugong and Caruhatan West Elementary School in Barangay Karuhatan, are currently in operation. These sites are open until 10 p.m. and can accommodate 1,200 persons in a day.

Human Resource personnel of industries or companies who wish to book their employees for vaccination may register through www.valtrace.appcase.net under “Vaccination Registration for Corporate”.
