WHY BALLET?
Ballet workshop provides children with training to improve their body form and test the limits of their physique. Teaching ballet at a young age not only instills discipline but also teach them to become "hard-working team players," according to www.partnershipmovement.org

Valenzuelano parents have put their children’s summer vacation to good use by signing them up for Valenzuela City Center for the Performing Arts’ (VCCPA)6th Summer Workshop for Kids, which offers free trainings on acting, singing, ballet dancing, hiphop dancing, drawing and painting.

Mayor REX Gatchalian lauded the parents who took the opportunity to let their children experience the skills enrichment program this summer. “I must say that parents who ensure that their children are having a fruitful vacation are the responsible and supportive ones. Exposing children to other forms of activity is a good alternative in getting them socially educated and polished,” Mayor REX shared.

The three-week workshop which commenced on April 28 admitted a total of 372 participants this season: (a) for acting – 29 kids and 32 teens, (b) for singing – 27 kids and 38 teens, (c) for ballet dancing – 21 baby ballet learners and 17 preparatory ballet trainees, (d) for hiphop dancing – 67 kids and 54 teens, and (e) for drawing and painting – 87 students.

All sessions are being held at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela – Annex.

The participants will showcase what they have learned in the workshops through a culminating activity that will be staged on May 22.

Apart from VCCPA’s talent camp, the city government also recently sponsored a “Summer Arts Program in Violin” through the Cultural Affairs and Tourism Development Office (CATDO).

Violin Instructor Joselito R. Santos trained 2 groups of participants, 45 beginners and 22 advanced learners, who staged their recital at the Valenzuela City Auditorium last month.

The violin workshop is an annual project of the city government which has been consistently running during summers for more than 10 years.
