A new mobile clinic is serving at the city government’s medical missions in Valenzuela City.

Painted green and yellow, the mobile dental clinic was given to the city government by the Department of Health on June 1.

Dr. Jaime Exconde, City Health Department head, said the DOH is providing local government units across the country with mobile dental clinics to expand the reach of their dental services.

The air-conditioned dental bus is equipped with two dental beds, basin with faucet, and compartments for medical equipment and medicines.

It is an addition to the city government’s fleet of mobile clinics serving at its regular medical missions in communities.

Typically held in covered courts during weekends, an Alagang Valenzuelano Medical Mission caters to an average of 700 persons.

At the Mobile Medical and Dental Clinic, clients avail themselves of medical consultation, dental check-up and tooth extraction.

On the other hand, women who approach the Women’s Health and WellnessVan receive reproductive health services such as family planning counseling, pre- and postnatal care, acetic acid wash and Pap smear.

The fleet also includes the Mobile Botika, where clients get free medicines.

Besides those given at the mobile clinics, other medical services available at the medical missions include eye check-ups and free reading glasses.

Outside the medical missions, two more dental clinics rove public schools.

The next medical mission is on July 2, at the Bagbaguin Multipurpose Hall, Barangay Bagbaguin.
