Closer services are now within reach of residents of Barangay Balangkas with the opening of their own Sentro ng Sama-samang Serbisyo or 3S Center on February 16, as part of the weeklong celebration of Valenzuela City’s 21st Charter Day Anniversary.
The 18th 3S Center is a two-storey building with facilities that includes a Health Station, Barangay Hall, Daycare Center, Rescue Satellite Office, Alternative Learning System (ALS) community center, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Office and, a spacious Multipurpose Hall.
In his message, Mayor REX Gatchalian said “Ang layunin ng proyektong ito ay gawing mas kumbinyente at episyente ang paghahatid natin ng serbisyo sa taumbayan ng Barangay. Habang tumatanda ang ating lungsod ay mas lalong umaayos at gumaganda ang paghahatid natin ng serbisyo sa ating mga mamamayan.”
3S Centers, also dubbed as “The City Hall Annexes”, are integrated government facilities which serve two purposes: governance and pre-positioning of disaster response equipment and supplies.
By the end of the year, 5 more 3S Centers will be opened to bring its total number to 23.
Mayor REX Gatchalian was joined by Kapitan Ricardo de Guzman and Barangay Council, and SK Chairman CJ Salita and SK Council in inaugurating and blessing the new 3S Center located along Sampaguita Street in Barangay Balangkas.
Also in attendance were District 1 Representative, Cong. WES Gatchalian, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Coun. Ramon Encarnacion, Coun. Ricarr Enriquez, Coun. Rovin Feliciano, Coun. Ghogo Deato Lee, Coun. Marlon Alejandrino, and Coun. Tony Espiritu.
The facility was blessed by Rev. Msgr. Filemon Capiral.
