Another romantic Valentine’s Day was savored by Valenzuelano couples who joined the mass wedding rites at Disiplina Village in Barangay Ugong and Tanada Homeowners Association Covered Court in Barangay Gen. T. De Leon today, February 14.

The ceremony led by Mayor WIN Gatchalian is one the highlights of the 15^th Charter Day Anniversary of Valenzuela City dubbed as, “Valenzuela the Highly Urbanized and Most Business-Friendly City, Remaining Steadfast for the Years to Come!”

The Mayor views the mass wedding as a compassionate form of public service for some financially-challenged couples who need assistance in legalizing their cohabitation practice for the welfare of their children. “The government’s sponsorship of venue and decorations is just a small thing compared to the matrimony’s lifetime impact on the newlyweds’ domestic journey,” Mayor WIN shared. 

A total of ninety-seven couples were wed during the two separate celebrations: forty-six in Barangay Ugong and fifty-one in Barangay Gen. T. De Leon. They all received gift certificates, kitchenware, and framed wedding photos, as Valentine presents from certain local government offices.

The public officials who graced the special Valentine weddings were Vice Mayor Eric Martinez, First District Congressman Rex Gatchalian, and Second District Councilors Lorrie Natividad-Borja, Adrian Dapat, Shalani Soledad-Romulo, and Lailanie Nolasco.
