A week after launching its COVID-19 vaccination to the City’s A4 priority group or economic frontliners, Valenzuela City now moves into inoculating those under the A5 category specifically its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries at the Valenzuela City Astrodome this June 20, 2021.

Around 1,200 4Ps beneficiaries received their first dose of Pfizer vaccine in Valenzuela City’s first batch of A5 vaccination yesterday.

As per the Department of Health (DOH) implementing guidelines, the A5 priority group shall include the poor population based on the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) or other verification mechanisms of the local government. As identified and validated by the LGU, additional poor populations shall also be eligible and Valenzuela City first targets individuals listed under the city’s 4Ps.

The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is a program by the national government providing conditional cash grants to the country’s poorest of the poor sector. In Valenzuela City, 14,273 are active 4Ps beneficiaries as per the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). Around 51,900 are lined up for COVID-19 vaccination including the active beneficiary’s family members.

Still, Valenzuela City observes a scheduled vaccination appointment system while offering additional assistance at the vaccination site for 4Ps members who are unable to register at the ValTrace portal.

As of June 19, Valenzuela City reports only 208 active COVID-19 cases, seeing a gradual decrease in the City's reported cases from 283 active cases last June 16.

The City Government of Valenzuela again reminds all Valenzuelanos to observe the minimum health standards as the local government aims to achieve herd immunity through its doubled efforts in COVID-19 vaccine deployment.
