The Valenzuela City Government carry on with the cash aide grant for the victims of the fire incident that broke out in Arkong Bato on March 13, 2022.

In line with the assistance that the local government of Valenzuela pledged to give the fire victims, they were given a cash aide in order to support their daily needs including the rental fees while the reconstruction of their houses transpires.

The beneficiaries each received PHP 3,500 to help them get up from the disaster they experienced.

On the other hand, 1^st district representative, Cong. REX Gatchalian asked for another month of extension because of the inconsistent weather condition.

“Alam ko dapat sa end of the month, sabi ko sa inyo [ay] babalik na kayo doon, pero hihingi po ako ulit ng final extension ng isa pang buwan,” Cong. REX explained. [I know it's supposed to be at the end of the month, I told you [that] you're going back there, but I'm going to ask for a final extension of another month]

Cong. REX also said a word to the beneficiaries that they’re just waiting for the National Government to settle so that they can ask for the support of the National Housing Authority (NHA) to help the city build a housing project for every Valenzuelano.

“[Naghihintay] na lang po ako na mapuno ‘yung mga posisyon ng pamahalaang nasyonal, para makalapit na tayo sa National Housing Authority (NHA) para mapondohan naman ‘yung mga long-term natin na pabahay,” Cong. REX said. [[I'm just waiting] for the positions of the national government to be filled, so that we can approach the National Housing Authority (NHA) to finance our long-term housing]

Floramie Migallen, 42 years old, one of the beneficiares of the cash assistance sends her appreciation to the local government. She shared her experience from the disaster. Her legs were burnt, prompting her to just stay at home due to disability. In order to survive despite of the injury, she opted to sell chicken meat and earn a living out of it.

The rebuilding of the houses will continue until it’s completely done. The local government targets at least at the end of this month so that people won’t have to wait any longer to have a safe and comfortable shelter for their families.
