About 500 qualified Valenzuelanos received their long-awaited medical assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and REX Serbisyo Center at Valenzuela City Amphitheater, August 19.

The medical assistance was made possible through the DSWD program Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS). An aid for individuals or families who are experiencing a severe blow in life or crisis made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic. The support provided by AICS is a response to their needs such as medical, burial, transportation, education, food, or cash assistance for other support services.

These 500 Valenzuelanos are from District 1 and 2 with pending and waiting requests to help them with private hospital expenses, maintenance medicines, and medical procedures such as dialysis and laboratory. However, DSWD workers assess the beneficiaries basing on a criteria how much assistance they will provide.

(My request to those who received their medical assistance today is to tell your acquaintances, because there are still many who do not know, that even though the hospitals are private, as long as the paperwork or requirements are complete, you can go to the REX Serbisyo center. It's not instant, because the DSWD is still adjusting the funds, but it will come.)

The DSWD-NCR workers assessed the Valenzuelanos based on the requirements submitted and personally handed the cash assistance to them based on their needs.

The REX Serbisyo Center and DSWD will schedule another batch of Valenzuelano beneficiaries who will receive medical assistance under the program AICS in the next few days.
