Valenzuela City led by Mayor WES Gatchalian donated 25,000 rounds of 9mm ammunition to the Valenzuela City Police during the opening of the Modified Handgun Marksmanship Training held at Punturin Firing Range, Punturin Valenzuela City on September 28.

Peace and Order in the city being one of Mayor WES’ priority in his administration as the new chief executive of the city, he is committed to supporting the current and future programs of the local police to improve their competency and skills in fighting crimes and maintaining peace and order in the city.

The Valenzuela City Police, being one of the most competent and efficient police force in CAMANAVA, has always been a partner of the city government in enforcing the rule of law in the city. With this, the Local Government of Valenzuela donated 25,000 rounds of 9mm ammunition to the Valenzuela Police to support them in their trainings to improve their overall skills as police officers.

[I think several of you have already felt the support of the local government not necessarily under my administration, but also in the past. I believe that the partnership between the local government and police is very important because we can not govern the several problems and issues of the city if our relationship and coordination is not good. Monetary support is not enough because trainings are very important especially to groups like you because we don’t know when various incidents will happen. We should always be ready for our duty and I hope these bullets would be able to be of great use and help for your trainings. I hope we could strengthen our partnership in the future.]

Mayor WES also mentioned that this gesture marks the stronger partnership between the local government and the local police. He commits to providing additional two to three hundred thousand worth of ammunitions every quarter to the police to support their organization. Another program Mayor WES initiated is the “Uniformed Personnel Fitness Program” that aims to help the physical fitness routines of different uniformed personnel including the Valenzuela City Police.

Joining Mayor WES during the ceremonial shooting were Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) Officer-in-Charge PCOL Salvador Destura Jr., Liga ng mga Barangay President Councilor Jonjon Bartolome, and other barangay officials.

The event signifies the strong partnership of Valenzuela City and Valenzuela City Police in maintaining peace and order in the city.
