Better government services are now closer and accessible to the residents of Barangay Bisig as Valenzuela City, led by Mayor WES Gatchalian inaugurates the New Bisig Barangay Hall and Welcome Arc on October 12, 2022, as part of the city’s mission to provide a more comfortable and efficient lifestyle for every Valenzuelano.

The New Bisig Barangay Hall is the first solar-powered barangay hall in the city and was made through the initiative of Mayor WES Gatchalian when he was still in his last term as the city’s first district representative. It is a three-storey building standing on a 116.2 square meter lot with a total floor area of 348.6 square meters and houses several facilities like the Office of the Punong-Barangay, Office of Barangay Kagawads, Office of the Barangay Secretary and Treasurer, Conference Room, and CCTV Room.

The rehabilitation of the Bisig Barangay Hall, a previously two-storey building which was originally built in 1996 is part of the local government’s mission to improve the quality of different government services for the city’s residents. The new barangay hall is equipped with 24 units of 450W SERAPHIM Solar Panels which can produce up to 10,800 kWh of electricity that can be used in the facility.

[I am very pleased to join you in the opening of the very first solar-powered barangay hall here in our beloved city. Our only work is to think of ways on how to level up our projects here in the city. Before the end of our last term as the first district representative, we launched ‘Proyektong Kakaiba’, this is a flagship project wherein we showed that like WES Arena and WES Events Place, a government facility can be beautiful and solar-powered. We realized that we can do several innovations with the same amount of expenses. On my first term as the mayor of the city, I am assuring you that we will continue creating these ‘Proyektong Kakaiba’.”

[Before, we are just asking for a barangay hall, but Mayor WES gave us a third floor. We really were the first solar-powered barangay hall. Before, when our electric bill is 8,000 pesos, we were able to save about 3,000 pesos, now, with the help of these new solar panels, I think we would be able to double our savings.]

Joining Mayor WES and Liga ng mga Barangay President, Councilor Jonjon Bartolome in the inauguration were Engr. Roel Umali from DPWH, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilors Mickey Pineda, Marlon Alenjandrino, SK Federation President, Councilor Goyong Serrano, SK Chairman Jan Carlo Constantino, and other barangay officials.

The blessing of the new Bisig Welcome Arc and Barangay Hall was officiated by Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Fernando, RDO.
