The City Government of Valenzuela under the leadership of Mayor WES Gatchalian wins its 5th Seal of Good Education Governance during the 2023 Washington Sycip National Education Summit at Philippine International Convention Center, September 22.
With the theme, Believing in and Finding Neverland, the Synergeia Foundation’s two-day education summit aimed to inspire local leaders to find their neverland and stay faithful in reaching their dreams.
This national summit also served as a platform to engage education partners, advocates and stakeholders, from the national, local to community levels, on meaningful and forward-thinking dialogues and conversations about the effective and efficient governance for better quality of education.
With the City’s public education sector, the local government keeps on addressing the ever-growing demands of the students and education in the city as time passes by. This is through the award-winning Education 360 Degrees Investment Program, which started in 2013. The holistic approach of the program made learning more student-centric, systemic, and community-driven.
The Educ 360 complete package includes Facilities Build Up, Nanay-Teacher Parenting Camp, Teaching Camp, Curriculum Development, Reading Camp, K to 6 Feeding Program, Performance Incentives Program, Inclusive Learning, Well-Rounded Balanced Students Program, and recent addition to this is the the newly-launched Valenzuela Techno Camp which gives students access to free IT, coding, robotics, and programming lessons.
The Seal of Good Education Governance is awarded by Synergeia Foundation in partnership with its sponsors, to cities and municipalities in the country that have exerted outstanding efforts to deliver basic education to their constituents.
Gracing the awarding were Education 360 Degrees Investment Program Action Officer Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilor Nina Lopez, Valenzuela Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Noel Bagano, and teachers and members of DepEd Valenzuela.
With all the endeavors of the City Government with public education, Mayor WES Gatchalian is committed to providing a quality and inclusive education for all the members of the Pamilyang Valenzuelano which resonates good governance, accountability, efficiency of not only the members of the local government but the community as a whole.
