As part of the city's momentous 400th founding anniversary, the City Government of Valenzuela, led by Mayor WES Gatchalian hosted the Industry Night 2023 on November 18, 2023, at Casa De Polo, Brgy. Poblacion. The event brought together key players from various sectors to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements that have contributed to the city's growth and prosperity.

One of the highlights of the evening was the Awarding Ceremony for the Top Taxpayers and Top Job Providers of 2022. This segment served as a tribute to the integral role played by businesses in fostering the economic vitality and development of Valenzuela City.

Succeeding the awarding ceremony, former DTI secretary and now the Vice Chairman of ValTech Board of Trustees, Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, shared an overview of the soon-to-open Valenzuela City Technological College, wherein he expounded the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the new educational facility. He also enumerated the new technical courses that ValTech will soon offer to students. 

To further solidify ValTech's vision of providing quality education to future students, a signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the City Government, Valenzuela City Technological College (ValTech, formerly Valenzuela City Polytechnic College), and esteemed industry partners ensued. This agreement outlines a collaborative effort to improve the curriculum of ValTech. There are seventeen (17) business organizations from different industries that forged partnerships with the City and ValTech. The following industries were:

The main objective of the said agreement is to gear students with an education that aligns with the evolving demands of various industries. ValTech’s new campus is expected to open next year with an enhanced curriculum and new courses for its Valenzuelano students. 

Another significant moment that transpired during Industry Night 2023 was the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the local government and Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health). Healthway Philippines, Inc. President and CEO, Mr. Ramon expounded the scope of the memorandum wherein AC Heath will donate public health consultancy services to the City of Valenzuela regarding Universal Health Care (UHC). This strategic collaboration underscores a shared commitment to enhance the implementation of the Universal Healthcare Law in Valenzuela City, thereby fortifying the city's healthcare service delivery network. 

Concluding the night, Mayor WES Gatchalian thanked the industries who established a relationship with the city by building partnerships through Public-Private-Partnerships (PPP) and sharing their resources and opportunities in nourishing the lives of the people in Valenzuela City. “Ang buhay po ng Valenzuela ay nasa industriya. Wala po itong Casa de Polo, mga magagandang proyekto, mga university, our [Valenzuela City] People’s Park, etc., kung wala po ang patuloy na suporta ng ating mga industriya dito sa Valenzuela City. Valenzuela City has almost 19,000 factories, warehouses, and commercial establishments. At ito po ang bloodline; ang puso na bumubuhay [sa] Valenzuela.”

Mayor WES also presented the soon-to-rise Valenzuela East Medical Center, an ambulatory and surgical medical center that will be located at Barangay Paso de Blas. With the challenge of the congestion in emergency hospitals in the city, he addressed that this forthcoming medical facility is designed to deliver accessible, multi-specialty healthcare for all; not just for the Valenzuelanos, but also to all neighboring cities

Industry Night 2023, through its diverse spectrum of partnerships and agreements, exemplified Valenzuela City's unwavering commitment to economic prosperity, educational excellence, and community welfare and well-being. The collaborative spirit witnessed amongst businesses, healthcare, and educational institutions underscores the city's dedication to creating a dynamic and sustainable future.

Reflecting on the success of Industry Night 2023, it is evident that the event not only serves as a commemorative celebration but also as a catalyst for ongoing progress. The collaborative efforts and steadfast commitment showcased during this occasion will undoubtedly contribute to the city's resilience and achievements in the new century of Valenzuela City.
