The recent inauguration of Police Community Precinct 11 (PCP - 11), through the efforts and committed partnership between the City Government of Valenzuela and the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Valenzuela City, is set to foster a climate of societal confidence, peace and security to residents of Barangay Lawang Bato and its adjacent communities.

Acting Chief of the Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS), P/SSUPT Rhoderick C. Armamento, gladly shared that the construction of the new community precinct would definitely aid his men toward better and faster service for the community.  He dignifiedly stressed in the vernacular that the concept of the PCP is to drive uniformed peace officers closer to the constituents.

This newly erected structure in Centro Road, Barangay Lawang Bato, is a local government-funded, 21-square meter, one-story building that costs PhP 556,533.92. This is a “strategic site” based on PNP standards because PCPs are foremost intended to be placed on major streets that are accessible to people.

Mayor Sherwin T. Gatchalian, an advocate of transparency and good governance, has consistently supported VCPS because he believes that “well-equipped law enforcement facilities are morale boosters to police personnel. If one can be proud of his or her profession, then, it is likely that this person will protect his or her dignity by not committing acts punishable by law.”

Barangay Lawang Bato used to be under the jurisdiction of PCP 7 in Barangay Punturin, headed by PCP Commander, P/SINSP Vicente Guzman Jr.  The same shall still be the commander of PCP 11 until new officers are deployed.

Similar tangible support handed by the local government of Valenzuela to the VCPS include the acquisition of PhP21,749,495 worth of firearms and vehicles in April of 2011, the construction of the crime laboratory office for the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and purchase of Isuzu Crosswind vehicle worth PhP833,700 last March of 2012.

The inauguration and blessing ceremonies of PCP 11 was graced by NPDO District Director, P/CSUPT Joel Ma. T. Alavarez and NRC NAPOLCOM Regional Director, Dr. Yolanda Lira.  Also present were officials of Barangay ng Lawang Bato headed by PB Romy V. Acuña, VCPS unit heads, and members of Valenzuela City Bikers on Patrol.
