To further assist Valenzuelano learners and recognize their efforts to excel in their studies, the City Government of Valenzuela will distribute educational incentives to graduating students in public elementary and senior high schools from May 15-21, 2024.

A total of 16,252 graduating students from public elementary and senior high schools are set to receive educational incentives amounting to Php 1,500 under Ordinance No. 551, Series of 2019, and Ordinance No. 1110, Series of 2023 entitled “An Ordinance Granting Financial Assistance to every graduating elementary and senior high school students and additional financial grant to the top five (5) honor students in all public schools in Valenzuela City.”

As stated in the ordinance, an additional financial grant is given to the top five (5) honor students aside from the initial Php 1,500 educational incentive to acknowledge their academic achievements throughout the school year. The ordinance provides that an additional PhP 1,500 is granted to the Top 1 honor students, PhP 1,000 to the Top 2 honor students, and PhP 500 for the Top 3, 4, and 5 honor students respectively.

From May 15 to May 18, Mayor WES and other local government officials will distribute educational incentives to graduating grade six students from all public elementary schools in Valenzuela City. The first batch of financial assistance distribution garnered 2,098 beneficiaries from six public elementary schools namely Roberta De Jesus Elementary School, Disiplina Village Elementary School, Punturin Elementary School, AC Faustino Elementary School, Lawang Bato Elementary School, and Canumay East Elementary School. A total of 10,844 graduating public elementary students are expected to receive the said financial grant.

Mayor WES congratulated the graduating students and expressed his gratitude to all of the staff who ended the school year successfully. “Hindi naman po ganoong kalakihan ang ibibigay po ng lokal na pamahalaan, ngunit kahit papaano po sana makatulong ito sa inyong mga gastusin at higit sa lahat, sana ito po’y maging motibasyon natin na lalo pa nating pagbutihin ang ating pag-aaral sa susunod na school year.”

On the other hand, the financial assistance distribution shall take place in public senior high schools from May 20 to 21, 2024. A total of 5,408 graduating senior high school students are anticipated to receive the educational incentive.

Present in the financial assistance distribution in the first batch were Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilors Ricar Enriquez, Marlon Alejandrino, Ramon Encarnacion, Cris Feliciano-Tan, Ghogo Deato-Lee, Atty. Bimbo Dela Cruz, SK Federation President Councilor Jai Esplana, and Liga ng mga Barangay President Councilor Mario San Andres.
