Valenzuelanos, let’s V-digital!
Incorporating digitalization into every aspect of its local governance, the City of Valenzuela held the first “TECH-TALK: Valenzuela Digital Summit 2024”, a conference tackling digital transformation and good governance; wherein the city also formally launched digital apps “V-Alert Button” and “DotBot” and announced the soon-to-launch “Val-U Electronic Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection” and “VSpace: Online Booking and Reservation System”, at the PLV Assembly Hall, on May 22, 2024.
In the city’s first “digitalization-related” conference entitled “TECH-TALK: Valenzuela Digital Summit 2024 The Role of GenZs in Local Governance through Innovation and Digital Transformation”, the City Government of Valenzuela provided an avenue not only to launch said apps but also impart informative talks to the Gen Z audience about digital transformation in the modern world.
Known to be the drivers of innovation, the PLV, ValTech, and DepEd students and SK members were the designated participants of the Digital Summit to encourage civic participation among the youth and educate them on taking advantage of technology to promote community development.
A resource speaker shared a discussion for the event. CEO of Siklab, Mr. Saje Molato, discussed “The Importance of Digital Transformation in Filipinovation” with the youth participants and proposed ways to utilize the digital advancements of the modern world to be a catalyst of local governance.
Following the discussion portion, several digital apps and systems were recently developed and launched to the Valenzuelanos for better and more convenient access to the City Hall’s services. Mayor WES Gatchalian introduced four (4) of the city’s digital services such as “V-Alert Button”, “DotBot”, “Val-U Electronic Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection”, and “VSpace: Online Booking and Reservation System”.
The V-Alert Button is an “all-in-one” emergency and rescue assistance app that offers immediate response from ambulances, fire stations, police, women and child protection, animal rescue, traffic management, and waste management. This comprehensive emergency assistance app renders city services quicker and more accessible to Valenzuelanos in just a few taps away.
DotBot, on the other hand, upgrades and adds essential features to its digital service. Initially launched last February 21, 2023, the AI messaging system “DotBot” can be accessed online through Facebook Messenger where clients may inquire about the following: requirements for CSWD Documents such as CSWD Certificate of Indigency and Social Case Study, requirements for application of different financial assistance offered by the city government such as Medical, Burial, and Transportation assistance, and inquire about the nearest CSWD Satellite Offices.
On its launch today, the upgraded DotBot now allows uploading digital copies of requirements in the DotBot Online Application System for quicker processing of applications to any social assistance. In its initial phase, this feature is only currently available for Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis patients. DotBot Phase II prompts lesser travel time for applicants from their homes to the City Hall when they apply for assistance.
Mayor WES also announced the soon-to-launch digital services known as “Val-U” and “VSpace”. The Val-U Electronic Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) is the digitized version of CFEI or a certificate issued by the Building Official to the owner/applicant as a requirement for the installation of power lines to a building/structure and certifies the completeness of the installation of all electrical wirings. As the primary project partner of the Val-U e-CFEI, electrical company Meralco signed a memorandum of agreement with the City Government of Valenzuela to ensure the successful implementation of the e-CFEI for Valenzuelano stakeholders.
VSpace: Online Booking and Reservation System is designed for easier and hassle-free reservations to any of Valenzuela City’s event spaces such as the Casa de Polo, WES Events Space, ALERT Multipurpose Hall among others. Interested Valenzuelanos can simply place their desired event place, time, and date, and pay the corresponding reservation fees.
The Valenzuela Digital Summit marks the beginning of the city’s continuous endeavor to upgrade, streamline, and innovate its processes and delivery of services to the people of Valenzuela City.
