With a commitment to empowering students with cutting-edge technology and digital skills, the City Government of Valenzuela, led by Mayor WES Gatchalian, has partnered with Koobits, Khan Academy, and TechnoKids through the Valenzuela Techno Camp Program. These programs were officially launched during the “Tech-Talk Kids” event held at ALERT Multi-purpose Center Hall on October 28.

The “Tech-Talk Kids” event marks the second part of the Tech-Talk: Valenzuela Digital Summit 2024, initially introduced in May 2024. This summit serves as a platform to introduce new educational programs and engage participants with vital information and resources for the city’s digital education initiatives.

Tech-Talk Kids Program Highlights

  • Khan Academy aims to provide free, high-quality education accessible to all students in Valenzuela City. Through this collaboration, students gain access to interactive learning resources, while teachers are equipped with tools to monitor progress and deliver personalized instruction. This initiative particularly focuses on underserved communities, creating a significant grassroots impact.

  • Koobits supports advanced learning in mathematics through the Project Mathsigasig initiative, led by Alpha Edutech Solutions, Inc. With its proven-effective study tools, Koobits enhances students' abilities in math, fostering a stronger foundation in this critical subject.

  • TechnoKids offers a comprehensive, hands-on digital learning experience, equipping students with essential digital skills through engaging projects, coding activities, and real-world applications.

The Valenzuela Techno Camp Program will be piloted in selected public elementary and high schools, reaching designated grade levels across Valenzuela City. The program includes complete training packages, resource materials, technical support, and instructional design to support teachers and principals in implementing these new digital learning tools.

During the Tech-Talk Kids event, Mayor WES Gatchalian introduced the Valenzuela Techno Camp Laboratory and presented PhP 12 million worth of new computer sets to public schools, ensuring that students have access to the resources needed for the program. Following the event, Mayor Gatchalian visited Malinta Elementary School, one of the 12 pilot schools, to inaugurate a new computer laboratory dedicated to the Techno Camp rollout.

Joining the launch were prominent education advocates and program partners: TechnoKids Philippines Marketing Manager Ms. Carmie Jones, Khan Academy Philippines Training and Implementation Specialist Mr. Anthony Alvarez, Alpha EduTech Solutions, Inc. CEO Ms. Ina Cuisia-Sehwani, and CFO Ms. Julienne Sison-Vital. They were accompanied by Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, City Councilors Cris Feliciano-Tan, Sel Sabino-Sy, Niña Lopez, Schools Division Superintendent Mr. Noel Bagano, SABAK President Kisha Ancheta, Schools Parents-Teachers Federation, school principals, teachers, parents, and students.
