In a fitting ceremony held at the Valenzuela City Auditorium, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) - Valenzuela City Council conferred awards to the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the District.

Ms. Elizabeth Chongco, BSP - Valenzuela City Council 2nd Vice-Chairman and GSP Chairman, welcomed a full house audience of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in the afternoon ceremony. In her address, she stated: “Today we pay tribute to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts who exhibited extra efforts in following the Boy Scout Oath and Law, and the GSP Promise and Law. Their leadership and exemplary performance is an act worthy of our recognition. ”

Likewise, Ms. Chongco acknowledged the full support of Valenzuela City Mayor Sherwin T.  Gatchalian and District 1 Representative Cong. REX T. Gatchalian who “made the success of this most memorable occasion possible.” Adding to the fact that Mayor WIN and Cong. REX are ardent supporters of the City’s volunteer organizations making Valenzuela City a “City of Volunteers.”

BSP - Valenzuela City Council Chairman, Mayor WIN supports scouting because he believes that it is “a good training ground on leadership.”
