Total of 1,748 Valenzuelanos flocked at SM Center Valenzuela for FREE medical, dental, consultation services and medicines provided by the SM Foundation, Inc., a corporate social responsibility arm of the SM Group of Companies in partnership with the City Health Office and Special Projects Office.

The medical mission, dubbed as “Gamot Para Sa Kapwa,” is the fruit of active collaboration between the City Government and the private sector.  Ms. Dorothy Evangelista, Head of Special Projects Office was pleased with the number of Valenzuelanos served. “Mayor WIN aims to reach the underprivileged people in providing medical services.  Kaya nakikipagtulungan kami sa pribadong sektor para mailapit ang serbisyo sa mga mamamayan. (We partnered with the private sector in order to reach out to our constituents.)" she said.

Aside from general medical procedures and dental services, other laboratory services conducted were ECG, FBS, x-ray and urinalysis.  Medicines distributed ranges from kids and adult vitamins to fever/flu, cough, antibiotics, de-worming tablets, among others.

Rufina Francisco, 64, a resident of Barangay Karuhatan, was one of the earliest to line-up, noted that, “Maraming nag-aasikaso sa amin, kaya kahit mahaba ang pila at madaming tao, mabilis kaming nakadaan sa lahat ng check-up. (There are adequate number of staff attending to us and even with long queues, we were able to passed through all the check-ups quickly.)”
