In continuous campaign for quality education, City Mayor Sherwin T. Gatchalian led the blessing and opening of newly-built Day Care centers in various locations in different barangays in the city.

The Php 7.7 million infrastructures were built in different barangays: Tangke Kanan in Barangay Malinta; Balubaran II in Barangay Malinta; Northville II-B in Barangay Punturin; Bagbaguin II in Barangay Bagbaguin; Annville Subdivision, Sto. Rosario in Barangay Maysan; Dimetria St., Purok 4 II in Barangay Mapulang Lupa and Arkong Bato Day Care Center in Barangay Arkong Bato.

Valenzuela City Engineering Office turned over seven (7) newly-built Day Care centers to City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) under the management of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program.

Three (3) other centers are currently under construction at Sitio Kabatuhan Day Care Center in Barangay Gen T. de Leon; Phase 5 Day Care Center in Barangay Punturin and Morning Ville Day Care Center in Barangay Canumay costing around Php 1.8 million each.

The city has 72 existing Day Care Centers scattered in different barangays that provides early education for more than 8,000 Valenzuelano children.

“Putting up new [Day Care] centers will help eliminate the problem in lack of school facilities and will help in giving quality education with the increasing number of students each year,” said ECCD Program Manager, Ms. Sonia Martin.

Mayor WIN also mandated the building of the Day Care Centers near the communities so that the children would not have to walk a long way or spend for transportation.

The new Day Care Centers will hold four classes daily which can accommodate up to thirty (30) students aged 2-4 years old in each.
